About ScrubPic

ScrubPic shows the hidden information inside photos and videos, and removes it before you share them.

How it works

Everything happens in your own browser. Your files are read and cleaned on your device and are never uploaded to ScrubPic or anyone else. ScrubPic doesn’t re-save or re-compress your photos and videos: it removes the blocks that hold hidden information and leaves the picture and sound exactly as they were.

Place names are worked out from a list of towns built into the page, based on GeoNames data (CC BY 4.0). No map service is contacted unless you choose to open a location in maps.

How it’s funded

ScrubPic is free and supported by ads from Google. Your files are never shared with advertisers. See the privacy policy for details.
